ethos

All Tabitha Ringwood shoes are designed and hand crafted by Tabitha from her studio in South-East London

SUSTAINABLE QUALITY

Fine detail and high quality are at the forefront of everything we do. With years of experience in the industry of fast-paced fashion, Tabitha now sees ‘mass-made’ design as a trend that we simply cannot follow. She’s witnessed industry overconsumption, and feels a responsibility to do things differently. That’s why sustainability plays such a big part in our ethos – from the design stage all the way through to distribution.

EMOTIVE DESIGN

Amongst the values that we’ve built our brand around is an ever-evolving search for communicative, emotive, meaningful design. We explore personal narratives through tactile, ‘squeezable’ uppers and innovative footwear engineering. That’s why we work with the likes of master shoemaker Iliaz Iliazi, and skilled metal worker Ian Whittaker – who helps craft our signature knotted heels.

INNOVATION

Our choice of materials and our processes focus on the notion of emotional sustainability. That means continuously exploring the relationships we form with objects, in order to create long-lasting attachments to them and change the reliance on throw-away shopping habits. We believe in our designs, so we’ll only have new collections twice a year. You might see familiar styles in different colour palettes, or old shoes given a new lease of life by the skilled hands of Tabitha and Iliaz.

JUST FOR YOU

All our products are made to order, which means we never develop or hold onto stock that isn’t wanted or needed. We love this traditional way of working, as we can produce beautiful shoes with the lowest possible environmental impact. And every pair gets the attention of a bespoke order. Wherever we can, we develop our designs to allow for zero-waste pattern cutting, and keep all the unused ‘scraps’ to use on another project.

COLLABORATION

Tabitha works with a variety of collaborators, each with their own unique aesthetic and design criteria. What they all share, though, is the same sustainable mindset. Everything produced by these collaborations uses upcycled, reclaimed, rejected and deadstock leather and ‘waste’ materials, alongside re-used components wherever possible.

PACKAGING

Our footwear is packed in entirely plastic-free, easily home-compostable packaging, consisting of recycled tissue paper and shoe box, wrapped with recyclable postage paper and secured with paper tape.

SHOE CARE

We encourage our customers to take regular care of their pieces and use their shoe box as protective storage, if so desired. With every purchase you will receive a note about the specific materials used to make your shoes, along with how to care for them. In general, to provide the best care for any shoes ordered, always keep them clean and dry using a dry soft cloth, store them in the dustbags provided and ideally in a box. Always store your shoes away from heat, rain, moisture, and direct sunlight. Avoid contact with abrasive surfaces.
